To Be (alike) or not to be (alike)
Posted by: rodriguez207 | October 22, 2009 | No Comment |Tonight you should be working on revising those essays. For those that are stuck with the information, put everything into a big picture concept. During this period, all three empires had fluctuating borders, centralized rule with power resting with one person, urbanization, growing trade networks and social and gender structures. In each of these areas, however, there was significant differences. Not all rulers administered the same way, nor did cities grow at the same rate or size. Roles of women developed in different ways as a result of either belief systems, or relationships with rulers. Discuss these similarities and differences in the essays. Give examples of why each of these developments occurred. For each society, think of the relationship between the government, and the major religion in the region. Was government supported by religion? Was religion supported by government? Was there conflict as a result of beliefs? If so, why is the conflict more evident during this period as opposed to the previous period? What about technology? Did they all make advancements? Did they develop technology for the same reasons? These are all questions that can help you go deeper into your analysis of similarities and differences.
